After studying for my bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and Management, I realized that marketing and sales would be a complementary and essential part of my professional career. I was determined to work in the beauty and skincare industry, and I knew that knowledge of communication strategies, marketing approaches, and performance analysis would be crucial in developing products and services that meet the needs and wants of a defined audience segment.

The internet and social media have transformed our lives in many ways, especially in the workplace. That’s when I decided that, to stay competitive, keep up with new trends, and understand emerging media channels, I needed to upgrade my studies. This led me to pursue a Digital Marketing program. Digital marketing is essential because communicating with audiences is a vital part of promotion and sales. Additionally, understanding the new media channels that have emerged from the internet and social media revolution is crucial. Now, we have digital audiences, devices, platforms, media, data, and technology complementing traditional media such as television, newspapers, and radio.

Being able to navigate and utilize these new media channels is essential for businesses to grow and expand their reach. Another significant advantage of digital marketing is the ability to sell and promote products in places that once seemed out of reach, including international markets. Globalization and digital marketing go hand in hand, as companies can now sell anywhere at any time, thanks to the internet. Consumer purchasing behaviors have also shifted dramatically due to social media and online platforms. E-commerce has become a part of our daily lives, and it’s incredible to see how digital marketing continuously evolves, offering new ways to reach customers.

For my future career in the beauty industry, digital marketing will be invaluable. It will allow me to stay on top of beauty trends, build strong relationships with customers, and connect with them on a more emotional level. Engaging in two-way communication through reviews, comments, blogs, and influencers will help brands share their mission, not just to sell products, but to genuinely make people feel beautiful from the inside out.
